[ inside the studio ] morning

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

I had a visitor in my studio this morning.  A very cute, furry one.

Working on a few pieces at once, beginning a few midtone underpaintings for future figure paintings (yay!)

I'm incredibly impatient, in just about all aspects of life. (instant gratification should probably be my middle name) Yet, somehow I've found myself on this journey as an oil painter -- a very slow drying medium.  To combat my impatience, I tend to work on a few pieces at a time while I wait for others to dry.

While I waited for a few underpaintings to be ready, I was finally able to finish this piece.
It's a new BIGGER size at 40" x 40"
I'm pretty pleased with out it's turned out.

I've titled it, Let's Not Lose Sight.

  2. I love your studio posts! I can't wait to have a studio in the future...one that isn't supposed to be an office for the most part. Ha, your friend is adorable. Love the way your piece turned out, too.
